50 YEARS OF TOUCHSTONE GALLERY
In 2026, Touchstone Gallery celebrates 50 years of operating a contemporary art gallery in Downtown DC! For this golden jubilee year, we look forward to welcoming long-time supporters, artists, collectors, and first-time visitors to any of our exhibitions, special programs, and events as we celebrate this milestone. May 28 - June 7 was the peak of the celebration, with 2 weeks of artist demos, three Art & Sound Salons, a grand opening reception for our 50th Anniversary show, and a Community Celebration Neighborhood Party.
Anniversary exhibitions include RetroSpective by Mary D. Ott (Janaury), Ain’t No Place: History and Legacy in the Black Community (May), Medium, Material, Method (June) Fifty: A Community Memoir (July/August), and the 50 for 50 series.
Coming this fall is the 1976 Studio Sale, where you can find one-of-a-kind deals on artwork by Touchstone artists such as sketches, pieces from past series’, and more.
50 FOR 50
A core program of the Touchstone @ 50 celebrations is 50 for 50. Touchstone Gallery honors its legacy as an artist-run, community-centered space, highlighting 50 community artists throughout 2026. 50 for 50 includes a series of solo artist spotlight exhibitions for visual artists, as well as opportunities for artists working with video, film, performance, music, and other interdisciplinary practices to have performances and installtions.
