50 for 50 Interactive: Call Collecting by Rick Gonzalez

  • Touchstone Gallery 901 New York Avenue NW Washington D.C 20001 United States (map)

Call Collecting is an interactive video art piece created by Rick Gonzalez. It is a collection of voicemails from strangers set to video footage collected. Using a 12 x 12 wooden panel, custom frame, 3D-printed phone hook, and vintage landline phone receiver connected to an iPad, Collect Calls is played on loop, allowing the viewer to listen in on voicemails left by strangers–ranging from silly jokes, compelling stories, to private confessions

Rick Gonzalez (b. 1988, San Jose, CA) is a video artist and mixed media artist who lives and works in Washington, D.C.
