Meet the Artists: Sunday, July 6 from 2-4 pm

In Color, Unscripted, McGrath’s abstract paintings are not intended to represent reality but to evoke it. Layers of color, texture, and media accumulate, creating a unique visual language that defies easy categorization.

Influenced by the bold gestures of abstract expressionism, McGrath embraces the unexpected. Her background in rug design instilled a deep appreciation for color, pattern, and texture, however she says “as an artist, I relinquish control, allowing the painting to guide me. I dance with the canvas, moving from wall to floor, incorporating my whole body into the process.”

Color, Unscripted is Marthe McGrath’s first solo exhibition with Touchstone Gallery.
