Opening Reception: May 3 from 3-6 pm
In Life Is Too Serious 2, Marcia Coppel’s new paintings incite smiling, in spite of the current problems in everyone’s lives. They are an anecdote to the darkness, as rich colors prevail. Communication, isolation, and healing are important as well as imagination and humor.
Most of this series are painted from sketches made on the beach in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. In one painting a green figure relaxes in an umbrella above our heads. In another, a red woman with blond hair chats with a green figure who is sitting on a chair in the sky.
