In 2026, Touchstone Gallery celebrates 50 years! In our golden jubilee year, we look forward to welcoming artists, collectors, first time visitors and more to our contemporary art gallery. There will also be a series of special programs and events to celebrate this milestone. Special exhibitions include RetroSpective by Mary D. Ott (Janaury), Ain’t No Place: History and Legacy in the Black Community (May), Medium, Material, Method (June) Fifty: A Community Memoir (July/August), and more.

Upcoming this fall is the 1976 Studio Sale where you can find one-of-a-kind deals on artwork by Touchstone artists such as sketches, pieces frRetroSpective by Mary D. Ott (Janaury)om past series’, and more.

A core program of the Touchstone @ 50 celebrations is 50 for 50. Touchstone Gallery honors its legacy as an artist-run, community-centered space, highlighting 50 community artists throughout 2026. 50 for 50 includes a series of solo artist spotlight exhibitions for visual artists, as well as opportunities for artists working with video, film, performance, music, and other interdisciplinary practices to have performances and installtions.

Three cycles of open calls will be held to select 50 for 50 artists. Applicants who applied in cycle 2 will be notified on or around May 5. The third and final cycle will accept applications from August 4 - 24, 2026.

Round 1 selected artists include: Jaya Sullivan, Nasim Kaheh, Rebecca Karabin, Jacques Liautaud, Leonard Jewler, LK Gupta, Salvador Rubio Rivera, S. Manya Stoumen-Tolino, Xenia Gray, Kira Belostotska, Chris Combs, Oliver Jones Smith, Julia Canora, Rick Gonzalez, and Stewart Gray III.
