Fluidity

in the darkness of the deep

shadowy iridescent fish 

dart or float

invisible 

from the air above

the moon pushed-pulled waters 

thin out at the shore

where visible crabs scoot sideways

and seaweed lies

tangled in shallow bays 

these fluid currents

are a planetary bridge 

connecting continent to continent

shore to shore

ferrying immigrant ships 

through the ages 

and now container ships 

from maker to buyer

a spherical bridge spanning 

planet Earth
