Gallery Reception: Saturday, June 20 from 5-8 pm
This body of work reflects Lesley Clarke’s experience of travelling through four countries that left a lasting impression: Scotland, Iceland, Nepal and Croatia. Each place is represented through a sequence of three sizes of paintings that explore the way memory evolves over time. Working in encaustic, Clarke builds layers of pigmented wax that are fused with heat, creating depth, translucency and textured surfaces.
