Jenny Singleton’s solo exhibition, Vocabulary, is a reference to her personal language of mark-making. Working in abstraction, she has developed a distinctive visual vocabulary that carries from one painting to the next, despite the clear differences between individual works. Singleton explores this vocabulary through tessellation, meandering calligraphic lines, starry skies, swirling backgrounds, semi-dry brushing, and multicolored tangles of paint set against white ground.
