Opening Reception: Saturday, August 22 from 4-7 pm

The works in Debra Perkins’ Happenstance emerge through a laborious process of layering paint, collage, and marks—building a history of surface before introducing additional layers of color, shape, and, at times, ephemera. The resulting works evoke states of serenity, introspection, serendipity, and bursts of kinetic energy. Perkins describes the exhibition as an exploration of the emotional experiences that accompany lives in constant flux.
