Sufie Berger’s Genesis of Meaning shines a light on the gaps left in art by the lack of acknowledgement of the female artist and presence. Through many different mediums and techniques, she creates a multimedia showcase of the strong female figure and how she interprets its place in society. 

Berger finds lots of inspiration in learning today about the women of art history who have been left out of the textbooks and their legacies that have been altered. Through interpretations  of goddesses like Medusa, and exploring the female forces in one’s own spirit she reimagines how these women in ways to give them the strength and respect that has been lost through time in a male dominated society. This project is a culmination of how she creates art without a rigid style and holds no boundaries on expressing her thoughts. Some of the pieces are visual representations of poems written by Berger adding multiple creative layers to her show. 

Sufie Berger has been a Touchstone artist since 2023. Genesis of Meaning is her first solo exhibition with Touchstone Gallery.
