“I have always loved drawing. These small paintings focus on line and that line is supported by tonal collage and limited pigment. I always begin a piece with line and let it flow across the substrate. Water-soluble graphite is the bold dark line that bleeds when it hits water and sometimes becomes a value. Lately I'm finding my work loosening in structure, I balance that looseness with technical line in collage and in vinyl tape.“
