"You Can Hit a Baseball Farther Than a Truck" - Inspired by Newton’s Second Law of Motion

Newton’s second law of motion describes how the velocity of an object can be changed by an outside force.  He formulated an equation to express this, F = ma, or force equals mass times acceleration, and developed the calculus needed to solve the equation for various conditions. With luck, the force the batter applies to this baseball will result in a home run, but if he hit a truck with the same strength, it would hardly move. That’s because a truck has a lot more mass than a baseball.
