“/glim(p)se” by Lisa Tureson

Opening Reception: Friday, April 5, 6 – 8:30pm

Encore Reception and Meet the Artist: Saturday, April 27, 3 – 5pm

“/glim(p)se”, by Lisa Tureson is an exhibition of evocative imagery created using multimedia materials. Expressive, abstract paintings are remindful of the glorious color palette of the natural environment. The transcendent and illusive imagery are both eye catching and calming. The artist uses a mix of powerful and subdued colors with a wide variety of textural components adding complexity to the surfaces. The show helps to kick off the spring season with its explosion of seasonal hues.

Lisa is an award winning, American painter whose diverse body of work was recently part of a six-month exhibition at the Hillwood Museum in Washington, DC in 2018. Her work is collected and privately owned as well as exhibited through galleries, showrooms, design stores and corporate collections around the world. Her work is “Best known by the Washington, DC Metro community of Design for her diversity as an artist, creator and problem solver, Lisa has touched a worldwide audience through public exhibitions, a large, published body of commercial work, charitable projects and private commissions. Her studio is a whirlwind of media in motion. Set up for acrylic painting, oil painting, encaustic, plaster, gilding, printmaking, mirror, framing and more, it is evidence of a passion for discovery.” – Home & Design Magazine, 2017
