Producing art with glass is an exhilarating process of transformation by fire. Wildly diverse colors, textures, and transparencies, along with the adhesive, reflective, and chemical properties of glass all spur my impetus to fuse complex layers that juxtapose and combine like with unlike. As in life, so with glass, when something breaks, the pieces may be rescued and reused differently.
My process pushes queries, offers insights, and suggests metaphors through surprising material relationships in the form, imagery, and use of my works. I invite viewers to touch, imbibe, relate, reject, celebrate, question -- in short, to fully experience -- whatever my art evokes. To make tangible the concept, events, and resulting glory of transformation, that is my goal.
